BIO

Zandile is the founder and director of Jafta Z Inc. She is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa since February 2003. She is recognized as a distinguished attorney in her field.

 

Zandile has experience in different areas of the law including but not limited to criminal, civil, labour, immigration and human rights law, personal injury claims, regulatory and compliance law, consumer law, general litigation. Zandile has attended Immigration law workshops and training on different universal and continental instruments dealing with immigration and refugee law. She has worked for organisations such as Lawyers for Human Rights and UNHCR (Southern Africa Office). 

 

Before establishing JZ Inc, Zandile worked as an Assistant Director, then promoted to Deputy Director at the Department of Trade and Industry, from 2006 to 2017. Her duties included providing strategic leadership with regards to legal advice and managing litigation; providing interpretation of the various legislations and regulations to the chief directorate; drafting Memorandum of Agreements and collaborative agreements and other tasks.

 

Zandile has vast experience in business establishment in South Africa. She has advised clients on several set-up options ranging from limited liability companies to partnerships. She advises extensively on set-up of trusts and not-for-profit entities. In conjunction with business establishment advice, she provides corporate structuring and licensing advice. 

 

Above all, Zandile’s passion is human rights. She believes that injustice and inequality on the basis of gender, race, age, religion, and social standing should not be tolerated. She wants to make a positive difference in the lives of those most vulnerable to negligence, fraud and wrongdoing.

Lorraine is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa since 2001. She holds a B Proc degree. She also holds a Post Diploma in Contract Drafting and Interpretation, a Post Advanced labour Diploma, a Post Senior Cyber Law Diploma and an Executive Development Programme (EDP) from Wits Business School.

 

She is an attorney with ample company secretariat experience and a healthy interest in agriculture, manufacturing, infrastructure development and social housing. She is founder of Mohau Secretariat and Compliance (Pty) Ltd with (15) fifteen years’ experience in all aspects of general practice including Corporate Governance, Commercial Law, Labour Law, High and Magistrates Court Litigation and Constitutional and Administrative Law.

 

Lorraine has worked for the Mpumalanga Gambling Board as Chief Inspector, Legal Advisor and Assistance Company Secretary. In 2011, she joined the Land Bank of South Africa as a Group Company Secretary where she gained valuable expertise on, inter alia, Corporate Governance, Administration, Planning and Co-ordination of Board meetings, drafting of legislation and policies, legislation audit, drafting and vetting of international agreements and contracts, presiding in disciplinary enquiries as well as drafting of service delivery standards.

 

Lorraine’s training in law and business management and her involvement in various strategic projects has enabled her to advise and support our clients from a legal and governance perspective and business perspective. Her commercial acumen enables her to be a trusted adviser to our clients.

BIO

Thobile is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa since 1999. He holds a B Proc degree from the Walter Sisulu University.

 

Thobile, was previously employed as a senior state advocate by the National Prosecuting Authority for many years.  In this role he provided legal advice to the National Director of Public Prosecutions (NDPP) in all legal aspects relating to decisions to prosecute or not to prosecute, legal advice on whether to defend civil claims instituted against NPA. He also drafted, vetted, analysed and reviewed service level agreements of NPA suppliers. He managed litigation by instructing and liaising with outside legal counsel regarding cases instituted by and against NPA.  He was responsible for the drafting of NPA litigation policy, Prosecution Policy and Policy directives, review and amendments to legislation.
